Modern media kiosks may appear in the Nizhny Novgorod region.
During a meeting with representatives of the business community of the Nizhny Novgorod region held on November 19, Governor Gleb Nikitin supported the initiative to install new media pavilions. This was reported by a correspondent of NIA "Nizhny Novgorod."
The proposal was made by the general director of LLC "Press for All," Andrey Timofeev. He noted that the field of distribution of printed publications is facing serious difficulties, including due to the active spread of digital media. But, he said, despite general trends, interest in newspapers and magazines, especially among elderly citizens, remains fairly high. He proposed drawing on the successful experience of Moscow, where a pilot project to deploy modern media kiosks has been implemented since the summer of 2025.
Andrey Timofeev emphasized that the new pavilions are radically different from traditional newspaper kiosks: they are modern, visually attractive and functional spaces.
Gleb Nikitin supported the initiative and instructed the regional Ministry of Tourism and the Ministry of Information Policy to establish cooperation with the entrepreneur to develop the project.
According to the Moscow mayor’s office, media kiosks are open pavilions that can be entered. They offer a wide assortment of newspapers, magazines, books, as well as seasonal goods, souvenirs, beverages and snacks. In addition, visitors have access to mobile device charging, multimedia screens with a city map, event listings and options for feedback.
Earlier it was reported that NIA "Nizhny Novgorod" news began to be broadcast on the city’s digital screens.
