Rostelecom proposed an industry standard for cooperation with universities.

      19 November 2025 15:26 Society — Rostelecom introduced its own standard for cooperation with universities in the training of IT specialists. The proposed approach allows training to be conducted on Rostelecom’s IT products, bringing together the work of universities, students and businesses. Universities receive a unified training model with ready-made materials, practical case studies and a special platform with deployed labs.

      Since 2022 Rostelecom has provided universities with access to an infrastructure platform for practice-oriented training and supports work with the software. The platform includes products, including the company’s commercial IT cluster. Vladimir Tatarintsev, Director for Strategic Projects Development at Rostelecom and Director of the RTK IT School, spoke about the company’s experience in working with universities during the session “Participation of Accredited IT Companies in the Training of IT Students” at the “Digital Solutions” forum.

      Rostelecom’s portfolio of educational programs includes courses of varying levels: from basic courses to training specialists at the Middle level. The plan includes more than eight areas, among them DevOps, data analytics and artificial intelligence methods, mobile application development, distributed ledger technologies, prompt engineering, project management based on Rostelecom solutions, data analytics on low-code platforms, and web development on the Akola platform.

      Six large Rostelecom subsidiaries are already involved in the project. IT products used in the educational process: Basis, Dynamix, RT.DataVision, RT.Data Lake, RT.Warehouse, RT.ClusterManager, Aurora SDK, WEB3Gate, NeuroGateway, Yaga, Yozhka and Akola. The plan is to increase the number of participants to 18.

      One of the main focuses of the project is teacher adaptation and the seamless integration of new programs into the educational process for bachelor’s and master’s students.

      Vladimir Tatarintsev, Director for Strategic Projects Development at Rostelecom:

      “In three years the number of students studying under our programs has grown from two thousand to forty-one thousand. We see strong interest from both universities and students. Our task is to give them access to clear programs, practical cases and modern IT solutions. It is important for us not only to train students but also to adapt teachers so that they work confidently with our products. This approach allows students to develop skills to the Junior and Middle levels while still studying.”

      The standard simplifies updating curricula and strengthens the link between education and industry. Students can work with Rostelecom’s IT solutions and gain experience that the market needs today.
