A pupil of kindergarten No. 429, Seryozha Rumyantsev, became a prize-winner at the federal technological projects competition of the Skolkovo Technopark, Sk Challenge 2025. He built a robot to work on the Moon. This was reported on social media by the head of the city, Yuri Shalabaev.
According to the mayor, as part of the competition participants from across the country were invited to solve pressing problems posed by leading Russian companies.
"Under the attentive guidance of his teachers, the young Nizhny Novgorod resident developed a unique assistant for mineral extraction on the Moon, named after his native city — 'NiNo - 2050.' Little Seryozha was the only preschooler to take part in the competition. And all this is thanks to the fact that his kindergarten, as well as all our preschool institutions, actively develop an extracurricular education program that allows children to develop their skills from an early age. Congratulations to Seryozha on his victory! Very well done!" emphasized Yuri Shalabaev in his congratulatory message.
As noted by the city’s Department of Education, this year the competition received more than 3,000 applications from participants across the country. Entries were accepted in seven categories. For two months children attended online meetings with experts, where they discussed technologies and strategies for successfully solving the tasks, and also developed individual projects in the chosen cases. Seryozha was among the prize-winners in the "Technologies for the Exploration of the Moon" category. The young roboticist was helped in constructing the robot by kindergarten No. 429 teachers Natalya Zakharova and Olga Avtamonova.
"We are proud that our educational institutions and our teachers provide children with the opportunity to realize their creative and scientific ideas. With the support of the head of the city, Yuri Vladimirovich Shalabaev, we will continue to work in this direction and create every possible condition for the development of children," added the specialists.
The solemn award ceremony for the winners and prize-winners of SK Challenge 2025 took place at the Skolkovo Technopark in Moscow as part of the youth technology projects festival, where the young Nizhny Novgorod resident arrived with his family.
