The MTS digital ecosystem has deployed additional base stations in the coliving area of the IT campus on Bolshie Ovragi in Nizhny Novgorod. High-speed mobile internet is now available in all 18 residential buildings, where around 1,500 students will be able to live.
Currently the colivings are home to students from IT programs at Nizhny Novgorod universities and participants in the IT University's network programs. Two modern base stations were launched on the campus grounds, integrated directly into smart poles. This engineering solution has made it possible to provide fast mobile internet in all dormitories, as well as in spaces for sports, creativity and collaborative study, while preserving the campus's aesthetic appearance and the design of the surrounding environment.
Andrey Belov, MTS director in the Nizhny Novgorod region, noted that the company's involvement in developing the IT campus helps provide future IT specialists with quality digital infrastructure and supports the development of the regional IT sector. According to him, other solutions from the operator's B2B service portfolio could be implemented on the campus in the future, including a platform for secure online communications and collaborative work for student teams, as well as cloud services for deploying educational platforms and IT laboratories, storing data and scaling computing resources.
Belov also reminded that the company regularly holds events aimed at developing the IT industry and supporting students' technological initiatives in various Russian cities, including Nizhny Novgorod. These include the major IT festival "Sistema Fest" (18) and the True Tech Hub conference "The World of IT from Within" (18+), which took place in Nizhny Novgorod this year and attracted more than 1,500 young specialists.
