T2 has provided connectivity to more than 60,000 residents of villages and rural settlements in the Volga region.
November 17, 2025, 16:56. Society. T2, a Russian mobile operator, continues to implement its technical strategy in the rural areas of the regions where it operates. Since the beginning of 2025 the company has launched more than 200 base stations in small settlements in the Volga region, providing T2 mobile internet and voice services to over 60,000 residents. Tatarstan has become the leader in infrastructure construction outside regional capitals and large cities.
When planning the work, T2 specialists take into account not only locations with rapidly growing traffic consumption but also territories where there previously was no mobile internet or mobile voice service. In 2025 the operator put more than 200 base stations on air in such areas. Now residents in these settlements can watch high-quality video, access government services remotely, receive education online, and much more.
The Republic of Tatarstan took first place by the number of base stations launched in rural areas — 117 telecom sites. Work was also carried out in Udmurtia, Chuvashia, Mari El, and in Kirov, Nizhny Novgorod, Samara and Ulyanovsk regions. More than 60,000 people gained access to mobile internet at LTE speeds and stable voice service.
Alexey Sidorov, director of T2’s Volga macro-region:
“With the development of digital technologies, mobile communications must become not only higher quality but also more accessible. T2’s technical strategy is aimed, among other things, at ensuring that residents of rural areas have the same opportunities as our subscribers in large cities. This year we have already put more than 200 base stations on air in small settlements, but these figures are not final; by the end of December we plan to connect several dozen more sites in the Volga regions.”
