Nizhny Novgorod authorities presented the KRT project for the Vodnik stadium

      In Nizhny Novgorod a comprehensive development project for the territory of the "Vodnik" stadium was presented. This was reported by a correspondent of NIA "Nizhny Novgorod."

      As Darya Shunaeva, Minister of Urban Development Activities of the Nizhny Novgorod Region, said at a meeting with the public and journalists, the developers took into account the memory of the place, the comfort of local residents, the modern development of sports infrastructure, as well as other factors.

      At the same time, according to the minister, the emphasis will be placed specifically on sports facilities. It is planned to build an all-season ice arena and a sports center, as well as an open-air stadium with a football field, a basketball court and other facilities.

      In the future the sports facilities will be transferred to the municipality and townspeople will be able to use them free of charge.

      In addition, the KRT developers have provided for the creation of 800 parking spaces, including about 300 under the stadium. The parking will be available to both sports complex visitors and residents.

      The construction of two residential buildings and three non-residential buildings is also planned. Shunaeva noted that "Vodnik" is located in the city center, is iconic for the people of Nizhny Novgorod, and these factors were taken into account when determining the permitted height of future buildings.

      In the end three options were considered: 180, 140 and 100 meters.

      The planners and architects consider 140 meters optimal. However, no final decision has been made on this yet.

      Deputy Governor of the Nizhny Novgorod Region Sergey Morozov noted that the implementation of the project will require at least 2 billion rubles of investment.

      Earlier it was reported that residents of Nizhny Novgorod launched a collective initiative to restore the "Vodnik" stadium.
