      A large fire broke out on 16 November in one of the private sectors of Nizhny Novgorod, engulfing several structures. The blaze started in a house located on Saratovsky Lane in the Kanavinsky District and quickly spread to neighboring buildings, the Nizhny Novgorod branch of the Russian Ministry of Emergency Situations (EMERCOM) reported.

      By the time fire units arrived, two residential houses and a bathhouse were already ablaze. There was a real threat of the flames spreading to nearby structures.

      Thanks to the prompt actions of EMERCOM personnel, further spread of the fire was prevented. The fire was completely extinguished over an area of about 350 square meters.

      Forty-five emergency service personnel participated in the firefighting. There were no casualties as a result of the incident.

      The causes of the fire are being determined by investigators of the Russian EMERCOM.

      Earlier it was reported that specialists were dealing with the aftermath of a fire at a landfill in the area of Moskovskoye Highway.
