Over two years, more than 4,000 people have taken part in the first aid program at N. I. Lobachevsky Nizhny Novgorod State University (NNSU), the university’s press service reported.

Training is conducted in accordance with the requirements approved by the federal Ministry of Health. The university notes a steady interest in the continuing education program. In 2023, 1,516 people completed the course, and in 2024 — 1,953 people.

According to the program director Natalia Grigoryeva, the course consists of theoretical and practical modules. Lectures are held online, and the practical application of the acquired knowledge takes place in NNSU’s Simulation Center. Practical sessions are organized on Saturdays to accommodate the schedules of educators. For example, staff of institutions learn how to apply a tourniquet, stop bleeding, and perform cardiopulmonary resuscitation. The course also covers legal safety issues, the organizational and legal foundations of providing first medical aid, a block on anatomy and physiology, etc. The training is available to anyone under the “Priority-2030” program.
