The idea of cutting the workweek to four days is supported by 49% of economically active residents of Nizhny Novgorod, according to data presented by the SuperJob service following a survey conducted from 7 to 12 November 2025.

21% of respondents opposed it. The remaining participants either had difficulty answering or took a neutral position.

Women proved more favorable to the initiative: 55% of the women surveyed expressed support for a four-day week, while among men — 44%.

Young people showed the greatest interest in the new schedule model. In the age group under 35, 62% of participants supported the idea. Among respondents aged 35 to 45, the share of supporters was 44%, and among those over 45 — 41%.

Attitudes toward the initiative also depend on income level. The higher the earnings, the less interest in a shortened week: among those earning up to 80,000 rubles, 57% supported the idea; among those earning more than 150,000 — 44%.

At the same time, employers are not in a hurry to change the work format. Only 3% of companies are considering a transition to a four-day week, another 7% consider such a model unacceptable. The overwhelming majority — 81% — do not even discuss the possibility.

Earlier it was reported that the State Duma proposed changing the work schedule in winter because of the darkness.
