Two people were killed in an accident near Shakhunya. This was reported by the State Traffic Inspectorate of the Nizhny Novgorod Region.
The accident occurred on 15 November 2025 at the 272nd kilometer of the Nizhny Novgorod–Kirov highway. The driver of a Renault Logan lost control and entered the oncoming lane, where the passenger car collided with a KAMAZ truck.
As a result of the accident, the 25-year-old driver of the car and his 26-year-old front-seat passenger were killed at the scene. An investigative-operational team is working at the scene. All circumstances of the incident are being established.
Recall that today there is precipitation across the territory of the Nizhny Novgorod Region — rain has gradually turned into wet snow and snowfall. Earlier, the Ministry of Emergency Situations recommended that residents of the region, if possible, refrain from traveling and limit the use of private vehicles.
