A fire broke out in a residential building on Chapaeva Street in Dzerzhinsk, Nizhny Novgorod Region. The blaze ignited on November 12 in one of the apartments.
Officials from the regional branch of the Ministry of Emergency Situations (EMERCOM) reported that the fire covered an area of about 3 square meters. Six fire crews were dispatched to the scene, with a total of 20 specialists involved.
As a result of the incident, a man and a woman were injured. They suffered poisoning from combustion products and were handed over to emergency medical personnel.
In addition, 16 people were evacuated from the building’s entrance to avoid possible consequences of the spread of smoke and fire.
According to preliminary data, the cause of the fire was a short circuit in the wiring of a television purchased only six months ago. Specialists continue to clarify all the circumstances of the incident.
Earlier it was reported that two people managed to escape from a burning house on Parnikovy Lane in Nizhny Novgorod.
