Andrey Sanosyan, as part of the AIRR delegation, visited China, where he presented the potential for cooperation with the Nizhny Novgorod Region.

      Andrey Sanosyan, Deputy Governor of the Nizhny Novgorod Region, participated in a business visit to the People's Republic of China as part of a delegation from the Association of Innovative Regions of Russia (AIRR).

      The visit is taking place from November 4 to 9. The program includes participation in the largest international import expo, a visit to a technopark, meetings with the Shanghai Association for International Cooperation of Small and Medium Enterprises, and meetings with representatives of China's strategic innovation development zone. The latter unites nine cities in the Yangtze River Delta: Shanghai (Songjiang district), Suzhou, Huzhou, Jinhua, Hefei, Huangshan, Quanzhou, Jiaxing and Wuhu.

      During the meetings Andrey Sanosyan familiarized himself with the practices of Chinese innovative enterprises and preferential territories, and also presented opportunities to expand cooperation with the Nizhny Novgorod Region.

      "China today is one of the region's most active partners in many sectors. We are interested not only in increasing trade turnover, but also in building new cooperation chains, launching joint ventures, and cooperating in the scientific sphere. This could include cooperation in various areas with our IT campus, joint work on projects in the Kulibin Special Economic Zone and in other territories. The visit allows us to broadly present the region's opportunities to potential partners from China, and to point out organizations on our side with which it would be interesting to implement joint projects," said Andrey Sanosyan.

      As Alexander Smekalin, director of the Association of Innovative Regions of Russia, said, such international visits are a crucial tool for developing horizontal links between Russian and foreign innovation ecosystems.

      "AIRR brings together regions oriented toward technological breakthroughs. Our task is to create opportunities for Russian innovative companies to enter international markets, study successful models of support for science and entrepreneurship, and form long-term partnerships with leading development centers. Such formats of work allow AIRR member regions not only to showcase their potential, but also to build systematic cooperation with key players in the global innovation economy," said Alexander Smekalin.

      It should be recalled that since 2025 "Increasing Investment Activity" has been one of the federal projects of the national project "Efficient and Competitive Economy", initiated by Russian President Vladimir Putin.
