November 5, 2025 17:50 Society — The A Just Russia faction has proposed simplifying the procedure for obtaining social assistance for low-income Russian citizens. The bill to implement this initiative was submitted to the State Duma by Sergey Mironov, 360.ru reports.

The bill’s co-author is Yana Lantratova, who heads the State Duma committee on the development of civil society and on issues of public and religious associations.

Mironov proposed making the receipt of social assistance an automatic process. This means that payments to low-income families and single individuals would be renewed without the need to submit an application if social protection authorities do not receive information indicating an improvement in their financial situation.

According to Mironov, such a measure is especially important because many Russians lose state support for valid reasons that prevent them from applying on time. For example, this may include health problems that prevent a person from seeking assistance in a timely manner.

Mironov stressed that the failure to submit an application on time is not always associated with an improvement in material circumstances, but rather with objective circumstances that violate citizens’ rights and reduce the effectiveness of the social protection system in Russia.

At the same time, social protection authorities will retain the right to request additional documents regarding a family’s financial situation if necessary.
