The authorities of Nizhny Novgorod have decided to expropriate three apartment buildings from their owners, located in the central part of the city. The corresponding decree was published on the official website of the city administration.
One of the properties to be expropriated is the so‑called "House of Merchant Polushkin", located at 34 Grusinskaya Street. The wooden mansion, built in 1911, is recognized as an object of cultural heritage of regional significance. The area of the plot on which the house is located is 211 square meters.
Also subject to expropriation is the building at 37 Nesterova Street (building A), known as "the house in which from 1887 to 1931 lived the physician Pyotr Nikolaevich Mikhalkin". This property also has the status of an architectural monument. The total plot area is 467 square meters.
In addition, the municipality plans to expropriate house No. 54a on Studenaya Street. The reasons given for the expropriation are the need to use the buildings for municipal purposes.
Owners of premises in the specified houses will be paid compensation calculated at the market value of the real estate.
Earlier it was reported that the Nizhny Novgorod mayor's office plans to expropriate a dilapidated house on Kostina Street together with the land plot.
It should also be recalled that two dilapidated houses will be expropriated on Gogol Street and Bolshie Ovragi.
