01 November 2025 10:07 Society Rospotrebnadzor for the Nizhny Novgorod Region summed up the results of inspections of fish products and seafood for the first nine months of 2025. Specialists assessed the quality and safety of goods by various indicators, including physico-chemical, sanitary-chemical, microbiological, parasitological parameters, as well as the presence of GMOs and radiation levels.

Seventy-three samples were tested for physico-chemical parameters. Only 0.004% of them did not meet established standards. Sanitary-chemical control covered 135 samples — all were within permissible limits.

When checking microbiological indicators, specialists analyzed 278 samples. In 2.5% of cases deviations from the requirements were recorded. Parasitological examination covered 149 samples, of which 1.49% did not meet standards.

All tested samples for GMO content and radiation background complied with current standards.

As a result of laboratory checks, eight batches of products with a total weight of 65.5 kilograms were withdrawn from circulation. The basis for this was the identified non-compliance with safety requirements.

In addition, during control measures specialists discovered violations related to technical regulation. These included non-compliance with storage conditions and shelf life, absence of labeling tags required for product traceability, as well as the sale of goods that do not comply with technical regulations.

All identified violations were grounds for bringing the responsible persons to administrative accountability. They were issued orders to rectify the violations, the implementation of which continues to be monitored by the Office of Rospotrebnadzor for the Nizhny Novgorod Region.

Earlier Rospotrebnadzor discovered more than 180 kg of dangerous meat in the Nizhny Novgorod Region. The seizure of 90 kg of questionable bread in the Nizhny Novgorod Region was also reported.
