The authorities of Nizhny Novgorod have approved changes to the architectural and artistic concept of Minin Street. The corresponding decree has been published on the administration’s website.
The updated document defines uniform rules for the design of facades, entrance groups and information structures. The main goal is to create a harmonious visual environment, preserve the street’s historical appearance and reduce visual noise.
According to the explanatory note, many outdated and chaotically placed signs made from poor-quality materials were identified on Minin Street. The updated concept takes into account the architectural and stylistic features of the buildings and proposes solutions that meet modern requirements.

It is noted that information structures must conform to a unified color scheme coordinated with the building’s facade. Use of colors from the RAL palette is allowed, as well as corporate shades registered with Rospatent. Fonts must be legible and non-decorative; distortion of letters and duplication of information on a single facade are prohibited.
Clear requirements have also been established for entrance groups. Canopies must be made of a single material, be located strictly above the entrance and not disrupt the architectural appearance of the building. Entrance doors are recommended to be glazed, without the use of white PVC, and on facades facing the red building lines it is forbidden to install solid metal panels.
Particular attention is paid to cultural heritage sites. All work on such buildings must be carried out in accordance with federal legislation, with mandatory approval of project documentation and author supervision. The installation of plastic windows and doors is prohibited, as is the placement of engineering equipment on facades.
Earlier it was reported that adjustments were made to the architectural and artistic concepts of Grusinskaya and Bolshaya Pokrovskaya streets, as well as the Verkhnevolzhskaya Embankment.
