The man who attacked a bus in Nizhny Novgorod has been remanded in custody, the regional court’s press service reported.
According to it, the decision was made by the Nizhny Novgorod District Court. The preventive measure will remain in effect until 28 December 2025.
According to the investigation materials, the incident occurred on the afternoon of 28 October 2025. A migrant, while intoxicated, approached the driver with a knife and struck him in the face with his fist. After that he left the passenger compartment, tore off the windshield wipers and smashed a bus window, continuing to shout obscenities. The man was promptly detained the same day. The Investigative Directorate of the Investigative Committee of Russia for the Nizhny Novgorod Region opened a criminal case under Article 213 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation — hooliganism.
The accused pleaded guilty and expressed remorse for his actions.
