Fighters of the Nizhny Novgorod reserve "BARS-NN" completed the final stage of training before beginning combat duty. The training took place at night at a training ground in the Nizhny Novgorod region. The main emphasis was on practicing defense against drone attacks at night, the regional Military Commissariat reported.
As the fire and tactical training instructor with the call sign "Google" said, such exercises are especially important for guarding energy and industrial facilities. In the drills, the fighters fired at aerial targets from various positions — from cover and in the open. Thermal imagers and night vision devices were used to detect the "enemy."
The reservists also completed a course in tactical medicine and trained as part of mobile teams. They practiced actions on an alarm signal: rapid movement to positions, deployment, and repelling drone attacks using standard weapons. They fired at targets at distances from 100 to 400 meters. Laser designators were used for accuracy.
The anti-drone instructor with the call sign "Ozilot" noted that the level of the volunteers' training has noticeably increased. According to him, the participants not only cope with the tasks but also strive to develop further.
One of the fighters, a shooter in the mobile group, Denis, shared his impressions of the exercises. According to him, night training differs greatly from daytime training — both in conditions and in difficulty. But it was precisely these that helped improve shooting skills and boost confidence.
The group commander, Eduard, added that his subordinates have learned to determine the direction of drone flight even by sound. He is confident the team is ready to operate both day and night.
From November 1 the first group of reservists will go on duty. Their main task will be to protect industrial enterprises from possible air attacks.
Recall that service as part of "BARS-NN" takes place only within the Nizhny Novgorod region; participants are not sent to the zone of the special military operation.
Volunteers sign a contract with the Ministry of Defense through local military commissariats. The main feature of the service is the ability to combine it with one's primary job. During training periods reservists keep their jobs and salaries. Participants are provided with modern uniforms, food, medical care and insurance.
Earlier the military commissar of the Nizhny Novgorod region explained who is being recruited into the mobilization reserve.
