In November, the "Longevity in Nizhny Novgorod" center will host more than 50 themed events for residents of the region (18+). Older adults are invited to creative meetings, dance master classes, as well as educational and fitness-and-wellness activities.
Every Monday the center opens its doors to guests of the "Warm Harbor" club — a venue for meeting people and socializing. In a cozy atmosphere, participants share their stories and interests and find new friends. On these same days the center also offers crochet and dance classes.
On Tuesdays visitors to the Longevity Center can attend classes at the creative workshop of theater and film actor Evgeny Pimenov. In November the creative group is preparing to stage a new theatrical production based on the poems of Robert Rozhdestvensky.
On Fridays the institution will host classes from the "RusLada-3" dance school, as well as yoga sessions for people of all skill levels. Guests will be offered various types of wellness gymnastics, including breathing exercises.
On November 7 and 21 the center will hold cognitive health lessons designed to help strengthen memory and develop cognitive functions. They will be led by specialists and volunteers from the "Dementia.net" project.
On November 12 everyone is invited to an eco-workshop on painting wood slices. Together with artist-teacher Alexander Chilikhin, Nizhny Novgorod residents will learn to create unique eco-friendly souvenirs.
On November 13, 20 and 27 the center will hold sessions with a psychologist under the "Life Goes On" program. These sessions are aimed at supporting people facing serious illnesses and at forming a positive life strategy.
On November 14 older Nizhny Novgorod residents will be able to attend a media lecture dedicated to Mother's Day.
And on November 28 the center will open the literary salon "In the First Person," where anyone wishing can share their own poems or works by their favorite poets.
"Events at the Longevity Center are a powerful tool for maintaining social activity, good cognitive and physical functions. Here older Nizhny Novgorod residents find like-minded people and gain new meanings in life. We invite everyone to our events; they are held entirely free of charge," said Igor Sedykh, Minister of Social Policy of the Nizhny Novgorod Region.

Reminder: support for older people is one of the areas of work within the framework of the national project "Family." It was launched in the country in 2025 by order of the President of Russia, Vladimir Putin. The new national project is the successor to the previously implemented national projects "Demography" and "Culture." It envisages measures to promote the comprehensive development of families: expanding support measures, creating conditions for active longevity of the older generation, and ensuring quality and accessible medical care.
