The authorities of Nizhny Novgorod have approved a new edition of the architectural and artistic concept for Gruzinskaya Street. The corresponding decree was published on the city administration's website.

It is noted that the document was developed in accordance with the previously approved Rules for the Placement of Information Structures and is aimed at creating a harmonious urban environment.

The changes are aimed at creating a unified visual environment and enhancing the aesthetic qualities of the city street. An analysis of the current condition showed that many information structures on building facades are outdated, chaotically placed and do not match the street's architectural appearance. The concept includes structures that do not meet the requirements.

In particular, the document provides for the regulation of the placement of signs and entrance groups, taking into account the historical and stylistic features of the buildings. For example, restrictions on the color scheme of structures are listed — the color must correspond to the facade architecture and be uniform within a single building. Exceptions are allowed only for registered trademarks.

Requirements for typefaces have also been clarified: decorative, display and calligraphic typefaces are prohibited, as are letter distortions and duplication of information on the same facade.

Special attention has been paid to the design of entrance groups. All elements — from canopies to doors and staircases — must be executed in a single style and must not violate the building's architectural appearance. For example, canopies must be located strictly above entrances and be made of a single material. Entrance doors are recommended to be transparent, with glazing up to 90% of the door panel area.

Additional requirements have been established for buildings that are cultural heritage sites. In particular, the installation of plastic (PVC) windows and doors is prohibited, and all work must be carried out according to an individual project agreed with the relevant authorities.

The changes also concern the design of construction fences during facade repairs. Three options for artistic design are provided, including photo facades and thematic images with slogans about upcoming transformations: "Everything here will be transformed," "Soon we will fix everything" and others.

It was previously reported that changes were made to the architectural and artistic concepts of the Verkhnevolzhskaya Embankment and Bolshaya Pokrovskaya Street.
