Nizhny Novgorod businesses report a decline in the number of inspections.
01 November 2025 11:19 Economy — The number of inspections of entrepreneurs in the Nizhny Novgorod Region has decreased. This is evidenced by the results of a survey the region’s Ministry of Economic Development conducted based on the results of the first three quarters of 2025.
According to the agency, there are on average 0.2 inspections per respondent, while nearly 90% of survey participants reported that no inspections had been carried out in relation to them. For the nine months of 2024, the figures were 0.7 inspections per respondent and 77%, respectively.
Denis Ismagilov, Minister of Economic Development and Investments of the Nizhny Novgorod Region, noted that the region consistently adheres to the goals of the oversight reform: inspections are conducted minimally, while requirements remain the focus of compliance. Compared with last year, the number of identified violations per effective inspection decreased by more than 3%.
Survey participants also indicate that the procedures for undergoing inspections are clear and convenient and do not have a significant impact on business activity.
The region’s anonymous self-check service continues to develop, allowing entrepreneurs to regularly assess compliance with legal requirements and independently eliminate violations without interacting with supervisory authorities. In 2025, seven more self-check scenarios were added in the areas of supplementary education, advertising and trade. A total of 200,000 self-checks were carried out across all scenarios, which indicates the service’s demand.
We remind that since 2025 business support measures have been implemented as part of the national project "Effective and Competitive Economy," operating on the instructions of Russian President Vladimir Putin.
It was previously reported that business ombudsman Pavel Solodky helped restore the rights of 70 Nizhny Novgorod entrepreneurs.
