The territory of the city of Bor will be incorporated into the Kulibin special economic zone (SEZ), which will create conditions for doing business on preferential terms. This was reported by the Governor of the Nizhny Novgorod Region, Gleb Nikitin, on his Telegram channel.

According to him, the Russian government approved the expansion of the SEZ, and for the first time its borders will extend beyond Dzerzhinsk. The new site in Bor will occupy 117.7 hectares.

Already, ten potential residents have expressed interest in locating on this territory. Among them are companies operating in metalworking, logistics, and representatives of the agro-industrial sector.

To create a favorable environment for investors, regional authorities have begun preparatory work. Nikitin noted that the Nizhny Novgorod Region ranks second in the National Rating of the Investment Climate, trailing only Moscow.

One of the key features of the new site will be a multimodal port. It will provide Nizhny Novgorod enterprises with access to international markets via the Black and Caspian Seas.

Waterborne trade is expected to help strengthen ties with China, Iran, India, as well as countries in Asia and the Middle East. In addition, it will create new jobs and additional sources of income.

The Governor also added that other territories in the region are being considered for inclusion in the special economic zone.

Recall that from 2025 "Increasing Investment Activity" is one of the federal projects of the national project "Effective and Competitive Economy," initiated by the President of Russia, Vladimir Putin.

Earlier it was reported that a production line for innovative fuel additives was opened in Dzerzhinsk, Nizhny Novgorod Region.
