A Nizhny Novgorod court ordered a factory to pay compensation to a person injured on the railway. This was reported by the Volga Transport Prosecutor’s Office.
The agency recalled that the incident occurred in April 2025. A 55-year-old local resident was crossing a pedestrian crossing on the enterprise’s access track when he was struck by a train. As a result of the incident the man suffered serious injuries to his arm and leg, which led to their partial amputation.
Although the cause of the injuries was a source of increased danger, the owner of the facility did not compensate the victim for the damage. Given the man’s severe condition and his limited ability to protect his rights independently, the Vladimir transport prosecutor filed a lawsuit.
The court granted the prosecutor’s claims and ordered the company to pay 600,000 rubles in moral damages to the victim.
Earlier it was reported that a freight train fatally struck a woman at Linda station.
