The audio dramas "Gogol. Scary Tales" and "The Descendant" have been released on Wink.ru.

      A new content format for the Russian market — audio dramas — has been launched by the online cinema Wink.ru (a joint venture of Rostelecom and NMG). Thanks to binaural recording, audio dramas give listeners a unique experience of content perception — during playback this technology provides a realistic, natural perception of sound by both ears. Actors’ voices, specially created musical accompaniment, as well as the tiniest rustles, whispers, wind, creaking floorboards and the crackle of a fireplace transport the listener into a special audio reality, creating cinema without pictures.

      Since October 31, 2025, Wink.ru has made available its first two audio dramas — “Gogol. Scary Tales” and “Potomokъ.” The projects were created by the production company AudioDrama with the support of the Internet Development Institute (ANO “IRI”) in partnership with Dr.Head.

      “Gogol. Scary Tales” (12+) — an eight-episode audio project presenting a new reading of stories from N. V. Gogol’s classic two-volume folklore collection “Evenings on a Farm Near Dikanka.” In the plot, a group of students who get lost during a hiking trip are forced to spend the night in an abandoned house to wait out a blizzard. Cut off from the outside world, the characters find the book “Evenings on a Farm Near Dikanka” and begin reading it aloud in parts. Soon the events from the tale come to life in reality, and the house proves not to be so abandoned… Only by finishing the story to the end will the youngsters be able to understand where reality ends and fiction begins. The main roles in the project are voiced by Lev Zulkarnaev, Mila Ershova, Vladislav Tiron, Sofya Lebedeva, Sofya Shidlovskaya and Nikolay Romanov; in the director’s chair — Darya Moroz.

      “Potomokъ” (12+) transports listeners to an alternative Russian Empire of the late 19th century. Here, hidden from ordinary people, live the descendants of fairy-tale creatures: Koschei the Deathless, Baba Yaga and others. Mitya Merkulov is one of them, but he would like to escape his unusual abilities. The young rich man dreams of entering Petersburg high society and dazzling at balls. However, his father, a police official, is exiled to a distant province, where the protagonist will face not only the local provincial society but also unclean forces… The project is based on the book of the same name by Ilona Volynskaya and Kirill Kashcheev. The main roles in the audio drama directed by Aleksey Frandetti are voiced by Sergey Burunov, Aleksey Lukin, People’s Artists of Russia Igor Vernik, Vera Alentova and Larisa Dolina, as well as Grigory Vernik, Maria Matsel, Masha Koshina, Ivan Trushin, Yulia Dyakina, Evelina Mazurina, Masha Yankovskaya (performer of the hit “Sigma Boy”) and many others.

      “Audio drama is a new format on the Russian market. Essentially, it is cinema adapted for auditory perception that you can ‘see’ with your eyes closed. The new project combines the best of audio and video formats: it’s convenient to listen to on the road, while walking or exercising, but at the same time it provides deep immersion in the material and leaves room for the imagination.”
