      Nizhny Novgorod residents were informed about the procedure for prescribing dietary supplements. This was reported by the editor-in-chief of MIA "Stacionar Press," Aleksey Nikonov, on his Telegram channel.

      According to the Ministry of Health, dietary supplements can be prescribed by doctors and feldshers who are entrusted with the duties of prescribing medications. At the same time, the fact of prescribing dietary supplements must be recorded in medical documents. In addition, it is necessary to indicate the formulation, the method of use, and the justification for prescribing the supplement.

      It is noted that for the first time in the history of Russian healthcare, criteria for the effectiveness of dietary supplements have been developed. The manufacturer of a supplement must have its own research proving a positive effect on human health. The supplement must be included in clinical guidelines, methodological letters, or standards. Also, studies on the supplement must be published in Russian scientific journals from the "White List."
