A multi-story building costing 1.5 billion rubles will be built in Sormovo to rehouse residents of unsafe housing.

      Another residential building for relocating citizens from unsafe housing will appear in the Sormovsky district of Nizhny Novgorod. The facility will be built within the boundaries of 8 March, Dostoevsky, Rabfakovskaya and Bolotnaya streets, according to the state procurement portal.

      The initial contract price was 1.49 billion rubles. The winner of the tender, whose name has not yet been disclosed, offered to carry out the work for 1.48 billion rubles — almost 15 million rubles less than the starting price. Two participants submitted bids, but one was rejected due to noncompliance with the requirements.

      The new 10-story building, with a total area of 21,000 square meters, is planned to contain 280 apartments — from one-room to four-room units. The ground floor will include housing for people with limited mobility, as well as integrated office spaces.

      The design phase must be completed by mid-2026, including obtaining all necessary permits. Construction work is planned to begin in August 2026 and be completed in October 2027.

      It should be noted that three residential buildings for relocated residents are already under construction in Nizhny Novgorod, including one on Zaitseva Street in the same Sormovsky district.

      It was previously reported that the Nizhny Novgorod region received an additional 1.9 billion rubles to implement the program for relocating people from unsafe housing.
