A gas pipeline exploded in the Nizhny Novgorod region after a truck drove into it.

      Officers of the State Traffic Inspectorate of the Nizhny Novgorod Region are clarifying the causes and circumstances of a serious road traffic accident that occurred in the Vyksa district.

      The incident occurred on 22 October at about 17:45 in the village of Turtapka. According to preliminary information, the driver of a truck, a man born in 1995, lost control and, while driving at speed, drove into a gas pipeline.

      As a result of the collision the gas pipe exploded and the semi-trailer truck caught fire. Fortunately, no one was injured in the accident.

      Traffic police are conducting an investigation aimed at establishing all the circumstances of the incident.

      Earlier it was reported that several vehicles collided on Gagarin Avenue in Nizhny Novgorod. And in Sormovo a young woman died as a result of a horrific crash involving a concrete mixer truck.
