An off-site orientation internship for participants of the 'Heroes. Nizhny Novgorod Region' program was held in Dzerzhinsk.

      In Dzerzhinsk, an offsite introductory internship for participants of the program "Heroes. Nizhny Novgorod Region" took place at the Sputnik youth center. The meeting was held by Dzerzhinsk’s first deputy head Gleb Andreev, Chairwoman of the City Duma Victoria Nikolaeva, and deputy heads of the city Sergey Fedorov, Denis Dergunov, Natalya Kitaeva and Margarita Bannikova.

      On behalf of the city head Mikhail Klinkov, Gleb Andreev greeted the seminar participants and spoke to them about the history of Dzerzhinsk and its development prospects.

      "The system of municipal governance is the first and closest level of power to the people, whose main task is to serve the people and create comfortable living conditions, prioritizing the interests of the local population. The timely decisions affect the implementation of regional and federal programs in the municipality, the formation of the budget to ensure the city's functioning and its further development," emphasized Gleb Andreev.

      Chairwoman of the City Duma Victoria Nikolaeva noted that such on-site meetings for program participants are undoubtedly useful and important: "We share real-life experience, talking about specific life situations and managerial decisions using the example of our city, which we love very much. I hope that the internship in Dzerzhinsk will enrich the managerial toolkit of our guests."

      During the event the deputy heads of the city spoke about their areas of work and answered questions. Participants of the "Heroes. Nizhny Novgorod Region" program confirmed that the live dialogue and the subsequent introduction to the work of the departments became a valuable practical experience.

      "Today, as part of our educational program, we visited Dzerzhinsk — a City of Labor Valor. This is a unique opportunity to learn about its history. Working in municipalities gives us an understanding of the management system and interaction with people. This meeting proved to be truly valuable and useful. We gained not only new knowledge but also the opportunity to see the work from the inside," said program participant Alexander Kuritsyn.

      Participants of the offsite internship paid tribute to Dzerzhinsk’s heroes by laying flowers at the Eternal Flame. They also visited administrative units where they learned about the organization of work.

      Recall that the "Heroes. Nizhny Novgorod Region" program is aimed at integrating and employing participants and veterans of the special military operation into the system of public administration. In March 2025 an agreement was signed between the government of the Nizhny Novgorod Region, the Russian Presidential Academy of National Economy and Public Administration (RANEPA) and KUPNO on cooperation in implementing this program.

      Registration for participation in the "Heroes. Nizhny Novgorod Region" program ended on March 31. During the selection campaign 1,613 applications were received from Nizhny Novgorod residents.

      Based on total scores from questionnaires, testing, online interviews and assessment, as well as results of in-person interviews with the Deputy Governor of the Nizhny Novgorod Region Andrey Gneushev, 60 participants were selected for the main educational program and 30 people were chosen to be included in the next cohort of the program upon their return to the region.

      On August 4, 2025 the official opening of training under the "Heroes. Nizhny Novgorod Region" program took place; the ceremony was attended by the Governor of the Nizhny Novgorod Region Gleb Nikitin. Sixty people selected to participate in the educational program began training.
