An off-site introductory internship for participants of the "Heroes. Nizhny Novgorod Region" program was held in Dzerzhinsk.

      An off-site familiarization internship for participants of the “Heroes. Nizhny Novgorod Region” program took place at the Sputnik youth center in Dzerzhinsk. The meeting was led by Dzerzhinsk’s First Deputy Head Gleb Andreev, City Duma Chair Viktoria Nikolaeva, and Deputy Heads Sergey Fedorov, Denis Dergunov, Natalya Kitaeva and Margarita Bannikova.

      On behalf of the city head Mikhail Klinkov, Gleb Andreev welcomed the seminar participants and spoke to them about Dzerzhinsk’s history and its development prospects.

      “The system of municipal governance is the first and closest level of authority to the people, whose main task is to serve the public and create comfortable living conditions, prioritizing the interests of the local population. The timely decisions made determine the implementation of regional and federal programs in the municipality, the formation of the budget to ensure the city’s livelihood and its further development,” Andreev emphasized.

      City Duma Chair Viktoria Nikolaeva noted that such on-site meetings are undoubtedly useful and important for program participants: “We share real-world experience, describing specific life situations and management decisions using the example of our city, which we love very much. I hope the internship in Dzerzhinsk will enrich our guests’ managerial toolkit.”

      During the event the deputy heads of the city outlined their areas of responsibility and answered questions. Participants of the “Heroes. Nizhny Novgorod Region” program confirmed that the live dialogue and the subsequent introduction to the work of the departments provided valuable practical experience.

      “Today, as part of our educational program, we visited Dzerzhinsk — a City of Labor Valor. It is a unique opportunity to get acquainted with its history. Working in municipalities gives us an understanding of the management system and interaction with people. This meeting proved to be truly valuable and useful. We gained not only new knowledge but also the opportunity to see how the work functions from the inside,” said program participant Alexander Kuritsyn.

      Participants of the off-site internship paid tribute to Dzerzhinsk’s heroes by laying flowers at the Eternal Flame. They also visited administrative units to learn about how work is organized.

      Recall that the “Heroes. Nizhny Novgorod Region” program is aimed at the integration and employment of participants and veterans of the special military operation into the public administration system. In March 2025, an agreement was signed between the Government of the Nizhny Novgorod Region, the Russian Presidential Academy of National Economy and Public Administration (RANEPA) and KUPNO on cooperation in implementing the program.

      Registration for participation in the “Heroes. Nizhny Novgorod Region” program closed on March 31. During the selection campaign 1,613 applications were received from Nizhny Novgorod residents.

      Based on total scores from questionnaires, testing, online interviews and assessment, as well as the results of in-person interviews with the Deputy Governor of the Nizhny Novgorod Region Andrey Gneushev, 60 participants were selected for the main educational program and 30 people were chosen to be included in the next cohort upon returning to the region.

      On August 4, 2025, the official opening of the training under the “Heroes. Nizhny Novgorod Region” program took place; Governor of the Nizhny Novgorod Region Gleb Nikitin participated in the ceremony. Sixty people selected for the educational program began their training.
