Anatoly Moskvin (also known as "the Dollmaker") has again come into the spotlight after an interview recorded with him in a psychiatric clinic was published. Six months ago his fellow patients in the ward, who had prior convictions, filmed a conversation with Moskvin on a phone in which he shared his expectations about a possible discharge. The video was published on the program "Kstati" (16+).
"They might release me to a care home. I expect that they will transfer me to a care home, and then someone will pick me up from there," Moskvin told his "interviewers."
The man added that he is currently working on a certain document in which he describes his attitude toward the girls, cemeteries, graves and "adventures."
Earlier Telegram channels reported that Moskvin could be discharged as early as November. Allegedly Psychiatric Hospital No. 2, where Moskvin is being held, is preparing a petition to the court to terminate inpatient treatment and place the patient under the guardianship of relatives. The court told NIA "Nizhny Novgorod" that no documents have been received so far.
Former head of Center "E" of the Main Directorate of Internal Affairs of the Nizhny Novgorod Region Alexey Trifonov recalls how Moskvin, after his arrest, asked that the girls' bodies not be buried too deeply. He hoped he would be able to "reassemble them" when he was free.
Recall that Anatoly Moskvin was arrested in 2011. More than two dozen bodies of girls were then found in his apartment and garage; he had dug them up from cemeteries, mummified them and turned them into dolls. He dressed them in homemade outfits and placed them around the rooms. Moskvin called them his "daughters" and said he wanted to "resurrect" them.
A criminal case was opened against him under the article on desecration of the bodies of the deceased, but in 2012 he was found insane and sent for compulsory treatment. In 2022 a court officially declared him legally incapacitated.
