Since the beginning of 2025 the "Health Trains" have visited almost 600 settlements in the Nizhny Novgorod region. During this time, about 33,400 people have sought help from specialists in the mobile diagnostic complexes. Each patient received the necessary recommendations for maintaining their health or for treatment. In many cases residents of Nizhny Novgorod were referred for further examinations, and about one thousand patients required hospitalization.

According to the region's Ministry of Health, more than 57,000 specialist consultations have been conducted across the five "Health Trains" to date. The most consultations — about 11,500 — were carried out by general practitioners, and over 11,200 consultations were provided by cardiologists. Gynecological consultations are also in high demand — around 10,500 were performed. Neurologists, endocrinologists, ophthalmologists, urologists, surgeons, dentists and other specialists also regularly work with the region's residents.

Teams for the mobile diagnostic complexes are formed on the basis of the region's flagship healthcare institution — the N.A. Semashko Nizhny Novgorod Regional Clinical Hospital. According to the head of the department for organizing the work of mobile medical teams, Olga Kolchik, in addition to the main mobile modules — a fluorograph, a mammograph, a mobile laboratory and mobile dentistry — the "Health Trains" include a dia-mobile. It travels to districts at the request of local central hospitals. For example, this week the dia-mobile is operating in the Diveyevsky municipal district.

"The main goal of the dia-mobile specialists is the prevention and modern effective treatment of diabetes mellitus. Since the beginning of the year, the specialized module has consulted more than 8,700 people. More than 2,100 tests have been performed on patients, and the diagnosis 'diabetes mellitus' was newly established in almost 280 cases," the doctor said.

Recall that the "Health Trains" project has been implemented at the initiative of the governor of the Nizhny Novgorod region, Gleb Nikitin, since 2018. The work of the mobile diagnostic complexes helps to achieve the goals and objectives set out by the new national project "Longer and Active Life."

The schedule of the "Health Trains" is updated monthly. Up-to-date information can be found on the regional Ministry of Health's website at: https://zdrav-nnov.ru/informatsiya/poezda-zdorovya/.

The national project "Longer and Active Life" was launched in the country in 2025 at the instruction of Russian President Vladimir Putin. It is aimed at an expected increase in life expectancy by 2030 and envisages further renovation of polyclinics, outpatient clinics and feldsher-midwife stations, attracting an increasing number of qualified medical personnel to healthcare facilities, applying new approaches to the prevention, diagnosis and treatment of chronic diseases, improving emergency medical care and rehabilitation systems, developing a network of national research centers, and digitizing the sector. The national project includes 11 federal projects: "Health for Everyone," "Modernization of Primary Healthcare," "Medical Personnel," "Combating Cardiovascular Diseases," "Combating Cancer," "Combating Diabetes," "Combating Hepatitis and Minimizing the Risks of Disease Spread," "Improving Emergency Medical Care," "Development of Federal Medical Organizations, including the Development of a Network of National Research Centers," the national platform "Health," and "Optimal Medical Rehabilitation for Restoring Health."
