Another 111 million rubles will be allocated to the creation of a terraced park in the Pochainsky Ravine.

      An additional 111.5 million rubles of the city's own funds will be directed to the construction of the terraced park in the Pochainsky ravine. This was announced at a meeting of the Duma commission on municipal utilities on October 14, reports an NIA "Nizhny Novgorod" correspondent.

      Yury Mochalkin, director of the Department of Finance, said that further amendments are being proposed to the city budget to increase both the revenue and expenditure sides by 168.9 million rubles, funded by off-budget transfers as well as the city's own funds.

      In particular, the Department of Culture will receive 700 thousand rubles for library maintenance and 8 million rubles for creating model libraries. The Department of Physical Culture and Sports will be given 16 million rubles to purchase sports equipment and gear. Seven million rubles will be allocated for the capital repair of Slavyanskaya and Korolenko streets.

      Expenditures for the construction of apartment buildings are being increased by 683 million rubles. Additionally, 34 million rubles will be allocated to pay the purchase cost of housing for resettling residents.

      At the same time, spending in a number of areas is being reduced. For example, funding for the Housing Department has been cut by 279 million rubles due to the postponement of work to install individual heat substations and the rescheduling of work to relocate engineering networks and communications that fall within the cable car construction zone. Expenditures are also being reduced thanks to savings in competitive procurement procedures, including for the repair of kindergartens and schools.

      Funding for the Department of Education has been reduced by 25 million rubles due to the actual implementation of the program compensating part of the cost of vouchers to sanatorium-resort facilities for children. Expenditures for the Department of Social Policy have been reduced by 82 million rubles for the provision of social support and social services to families with children through the milk kitchen system — due to the actual number of recipients of social support measures.

      Spending on the capital repair of the road on the dam of the Grebny Canal has also been cut by 150 million rubles. The reason is the postponement of the work to 2026.

      After the adjustments, the budget parameters are: revenues — 73.7 billion rubles, expenditures — 77.4 billion rubles, deficit — 3.69 billion rubles.

      Earlier it was reported that the timeline for implementing the terraced park project in the Pochainsky ravine would be adjusted. According to GUMMiD, amendments to the municipal contract are currently under consideration. Construction work continues: concreting of the tunnel under the Lykova dam has been completed, the foundations for the bridge and amphitheater are being laid, slopes are being leveled, and stairs, parapets and sidewalks are being built.

      Recall, the project started at the end of 2023. The park was planned to be completed by November 2025. The total cost of the project is 3.6 billion rubles; 1.82 billion rubles were allocated for its implementation in 2024–2025.
