The Minister of Industry, Trade and Entrepreneurship of Nizhny Novgorod Oblast, Maksim Cherkasov, presented the region's experience in supporting manufacturers of children's goods at the meeting "On the tasks for developing the production of children's goods in the Russian Federation until 2030." The event was held under the leadership of the Minister of Industry and Trade of the Russian Federation, Anton Alikhanov.
The meeting was devoted to issues related to the development of the children's goods industry. The key topic of discussion was joint steps to support domestic manufacturers and develop this socially important sector, including within the framework of implementing the six-year plan approved by the Government of the Russian Federation.
"Production volumes of children's goods are showing steady growth — around five percent last year and this year. Our task is at least to maintain this average annual rate to meet the indicators of the 'roadmap,'" said Anton Alikhanov.
Work to support the children's goods industry in the region is being carried out by the Ministry of Industry of Nizhny Novgorod Oblast with the support of the Association of Enterprises of the Children's Goods Industry.
Maksim Cherkasov said that over the past three years the region has been actively developing the children's goods sector: a specialized cluster uniting 95 enterprises of various specializations has been created, and a regional "roadmap" for the development of this sector through 2030 has been approved.
"A whole range of measures to support manufacturers of children's goods is in place in Nizhny Novgorod Oblast. The region has experience in reimbursing enterprises' costs for certification and marketing, purchasing equipment and technologies, registering intellectual property, and assisting participation in industry exhibitions. In 2024, 46 industry enterprises received support in various areas. Thanks to these measures, the companies' combined revenue increased by more than 687 million rubles," Maksim Cherkasov noted.
He added that interdepartmental work aimed at developing the children's goods industry has been organized in the region.
"Together with the regional Ministry of Education and Science we help enterprises learn in a timely manner about government procurements for schools, kindergartens and development centers in Nizhny Novgorod Oblast. As a result, the volume of supplies from cluster participants to the children's industry increased by a quarter and reached 80 million rubles. In addition, together with the Ministry of Social Policy we are implementing the 'Gift for the Newborn' project. Young parents can choose a gift set worth 20,000 rubles from 400 products by fifteen Nizhny Novgorod manufacturers through the marketplace. Thus, every ruble of social support returns to the region's economy and contributes to the development of local enterprises," added Maksim Cherkasov.
"Everything we do together with the Ministry of Industry and Trade is an investment in the social infrastructure of childhood. The development of the domestic children's goods industry means not only growth in production and new jobs, but also that every child in Russia will be surrounded by safe, high-quality, useful products made with care for their development and health," concluded Antonina Tsitsulina, President of the Association of Enterprises of the Children's Goods Industry.
Recall that Nizhny Novgorod entrepreneurs, including representatives of the children's goods industry, can find out about all support measures at the My Business center (мойбизнес52.рф), which operates within the federal project "Small and Medium Entrepreneurship" of the national project "Efficient and Competitive Economy." The center has a My Business hotline where you can also get all the necessary information. Hotline phone: 8 (800) 301-29-94 (toll-free).
According to the Ministry of Economic Development of Russia, the national project "Efficient and Competitive Economy," initiated in 2025 by President Vladimir Putin, will become the main tool for forming a new growth model. It includes federal projects aimed at developing small and medium-sized enterprises, increasing labor productivity, boosting investment activity, low-carbon development, and developing the state system of statistics and forecasting.
