A criminal case was opened after a traffic accident near Vyksa that left two people dead.

      October 14, 2025, 18:47 Incidents Investigators have opened a criminal case into a fatal crash that occurred in the village of Doschatoe in the Vyksunsky District. This was reported by the press service of the Main Directorate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia for the Nizhny Novgorod Region.

      Recall that a 40-year-old driver of a Renault Symbol, while under the influence of alcohol and without a driver's license, drove into the oncoming lane, after which the car went into a ditch, collided with a power line pole and a parked Lada Granta. As a result of the crash, two passengers of the foreign-made car died at the scene.

      It emerged that the driver had previously been deprived of his license for a similar violation and did not have the legal right to drive until July of this year.

      The investigative department of the Investigative Committee of Russia for the Navashinsky District has opened a criminal case under the article on violating traffic rules by a person in a state of intoxication that negligently caused the deaths of two persons.

      The driver has been detained; the court will consider the issue of a preventive measure in the near future. He faces up to 15 years in prison.

      Earlier it was reported that a 36-year-old moped rider died after colliding with a passenger car due to a traffic violation near Dzerzhinsk.
