More than 7 million Russians will receive the family tax deduction.

      Minister of Labor and Social Protection Anton Kotyakov announced a new preferential program that will grant families with two or more children the right to an annual tax deduction. The deduction will be calculated based on the paid personal income tax (PIT) at a reduced rate, reports 360.ru.

      The program will be available to parents whose per capita income does not exceed 1.5 times the subsistence minimum per person. In addition, they will have to meet certain property requirements and have no overdue child support payments.

      According to Kotyakov, about 119 billion rubles will be allocated in 2026 for the implementation of this initiative. The payments are expected to affect 7.3 million working parents.

      Payments will be made once a year after submitting the appropriate application. Applicants will be able to submit documents via the government services portal or apply in person at a Social Fund branch. Acceptance of applications for the tax deduction for 2025 will begin on June 1, 2026 and last until October 1, 2026.

      In addition to this initiative, Kotyakov announced an indexation of maternity capital next year. The payment for the first child will amount to 737,000 rubles, and for the second child — more than 974,000 rubles. The total budget of the maternity capital program in 2026 will reach almost 567 billion rubles.
