The fire station chief sustained severe burns in a fire in Nizhny Novgorod.

      A wooden house caught fire in the Leninsky District of Nizhny Novgorod during which the head of a fire station was injured while extinguishing the blaze. This was reported by the regional State Labor Inspectorate.

      Recall that on October 3 a large fire broke out in an uninhabited wooden house on Entuziastov Street. The fire area reached 300 square meters. During firefighting operations there was an emission of sparks and hot steam. As a result, a 53-year-old deputy chief of the 180th fire station of the 11-OGPS of the Department for Civil Defense, Emergencies and Fire Safety of the Nizhny Novgorod Region was injured. The man was hospitalized with facial burns — the injuries were classified as severe.

      All circumstances and causes of the incident are being established.

      Earlier the site reported that two private houses burned down in the village of Vyezdnoye in the Arzamas district.
