      In the Nizhny Novgorod region, recruitment of servicemen is underway for the 12th Main Directorate of the Russian Ministry of Defense. The first 27 Nizhny Novgorod residents have already signed contracts and departed for their places of service, the House of National Unity reported.

      The 12th directorate is considered elite. It currently requires junior commanders, reconnaissance personnel, communications specialists, snipers, sappers, anti-aircraft gunners, drone operators, drivers, military band musicians, as well as technical, engineering, medical and other specialists. Entry there is possible by passing a rigorous selection. It is important to meet health and age requirements (candidates aged 18–42 are being considered).

      Servicemen of this unit are promised decent pay, various benefits, and comfortable living and service conditions. The amount of the one-time payment is 1.2 million rubles. The salary is 60,000 rubles per month. There are also allowances, a mortgage housing program, free meals and medical care.
