Double-deck passenger coaches with seating, built to order for FPC (a subsidiary of Russian Railways) and intended for use on the Gorky Railway as part of the branded train "Burevestnik" Moscow–Nizhny Novgorod, have been certified as meeting the requirements of the Customs Union technical regulations.
Passenger comfort is ensured by a carefully planned interior layout with two seating configurations: 104 and 60 seats.
Unlike the coaches of the previous modification, which operate in the Aurora train sets, they are equipped with an additional toilet (now three in each coach), and the "starry sky" lighting is present not only in first-class coaches but also in second-class ones.
By the time Burevestnik is launched, the manufacturer (TVZ) plans to deliver to FPC 37 coaches of various models needed to form the trainsets.
It should be recalled that the high-speed double-deck Burevestnik trains on the Nizhny Novgorod–Moscow route will run on the Gorky Railway from December 3, 2025. Depending on the timetable, Burevestnik will stop in Dzerzhinsk, Kovrov and Vladimir, and the journey time will be about four hours.
The formation will include at least 10 modern double-deck coaches: seating coaches, a compartment staff coach, SV (deluxe sleeping car) and a bistro car. Thus, on a single trip the train will be able to carry over 730 passengers.
