The Nizhny Novgorod minister Dmitry Kabaylo became a mentor to two veterans of the special military operation.

      Head of the Ministry of Sports of the Nizhny Novgorod Region Dmitry Kabaylo became a mentor to two participants of the special military operation — Nikolay Shadrin and Maksim Zhiryakov. This took place as part of the regional support program "Heroes. Nizhny Novgorod Region."

      As the minister wrote on his Telegram channel, the veterans are currently undergoing an internship. The latest meeting under the program took place at the sports club "Lad," which is a key venue for the development of adaptive climbing in the region.

      Another veteran, Igor Makeev, joined the program. His mentor became the Deputy Governor of the Nizhny Novgorod Region, Oleg Berkovich.

      Dmitry Kabaylo also said that, together with his public adviser Liliya Lanskaya, who is responsible for involving veterans and participants of the special military operation in the sports environment, and with the deputy chairman of the Nizhny Novgorod Region Climbing Federation Maksim Kavinov, they discussed new ways of social adaptation for the defenders of the Motherland. In particular, they talked about rehabilitation opportunities through adaptive climbing.

      According to the head of the regional Ministry of Sports, special sports programs are being developed for veterans of the special military operation and their families; master classes, tournaments, and family festivals are being held. Free access to the region’s sports infrastructure is also provided.

      "All of this is part of large-scale systemic work. We will continue to support our heroes, creating comfortable conditions for them to engage in sports," the minister emphasized.

      Earlier it was reported that participants of the "Heroes. Nizhny Novgorod Region" program are on internship at the Legislative Assembly of the Nizhny Novgorod Region.
