The School of Student Self-Government Activists of the institute "SHASSI" has concluded at the Nizhny Novgorod Institute of Management — a branch of RANEPA. The three-day educational intensive took place at the Sokol children's camp in the Gorodetsky District.

The project was implemented with funds from a Rosmolodezh grant, obtained by academy student Elizaveta Abuzova in May 2025. According to her, winning the "Rosmolodezh. Grants" competition made it possible to secure funding to implement an educational program aimed at developing student initiatives.

There are a total of 10 student associations operating at the RANEPA Nizhny Novgorod Institute. The SHASSI project is designed to strengthen the student self-government system, to form common goals and values of the institute's youth policy. About 60 students took part in the off-site intensive. Over three days they developed proposals for modernizing student councils, identified directions for the development of self-government for the coming academic year, and completed training modules aimed at developing leadership and management competencies.

As part of the program, meetings were held with invited guests. Students spoke with the head of the youth ministry department of the Gorodets Diocese, Hieromonk Alexander, and also asked questions to a veteran of the special military operation, a participant of the "Heroes. Nizhny Novgorod Region" program, Artyom Sazonov.

In addition, the director of the RANEPA Nizhny Novgorod Institute, Ekaterina Lebedeva, spoke to the participants.

"I was happy to share my experience of working in the civil service and talked about how I see the role of a leader in today's, at times very challenging, realities," said Ekaterina Lebedeva.

Following the intensive, a personnel reserve of potential student self-government leaders will be formed, ready to apply the knowledge gained in real public activities.

As participants noted, the off-site training format helped them fully immerse themselves in the process, exchange experiences, and build productive teamwork. They expressed hope that the program will become annual.

The educational and outreach program "SHASSI" is being implemented with the support of the "Rosmolodezh. Grants" grant program and corresponds to the national development goals outlined in the decrees of the President of the Russian Federation — unlocking the potential of every person and strengthening traditional spiritual and moral values.
