Residents of Nizhny Novgorod were reminded of the steps to take during an attack by enemy drones.

      Residents of the Nizhny Novgorod region were reminded how to behave in the event of a drone attack. The recommendations were published by the EMERCOM of Russia.

      If a UAV raid catches you indoors, you should go down to the lower floors, to the basement or to an underground parking garage. If no such shelters are available, choose a room with load-bearing walls, sit on the floor by a concrete wall and crouch. It is important to stay as far away from windows as possible to avoid injuries from shards.

      Specialists consider the bathroom the safest place in an apartment or house during a drone attack.

      If drones appear while you are outside, you must immediately lie on the ground and cover your head with your hands. After the shooting finishes, you should enter the nearest building, underground passage or parking garage. If such shelters are not available, you can hide in a depression, behind an embankment or a concrete structure. It is strictly prohibited to leave shelter before the shooting ends.

      If you are in a car or public transport, you must stop, leave the vehicle and find the nearest shelter. If shooting or explosions begin, immediately lie on the ground and cover your head with your hands. When the attack stops, you should quickly get to a safe place.

      After the shelling ends, EMERCOM recommends not to rush to leave shelter. When outside, carefully watch your step, do not touch suspicious items or unexploded ordnance. Keep children close and do not let them out of your sight.

      Recall that an attack by 20 drones was repelled in the Nizhny Novgorod region on October 6. It was reported that one person was injured.
