Over the first nine months of 2025, specialists from the phytosanitary supervision, seed control, and grain quality and safety oversight departments of the Rosselkhoznadzor Directorate for Nizhny Novgorod Oblast and the Republic of Mari El conducted a state phytosanitary inspection and examination at Nizhny Novgorod V.P. Chkalov International Airport. As part of the control measures, a visual inspection and examination of the hand luggage and baggage of passengers of flight 801, arriving both from distant foreign countries and from Customs Union member states, was carried out.
Violations of the legislation of the Russian Federation were identified during the inspections. Among passengers arriving from Uzbekistan, 29.58 kg of quarantine-regulated products prohibited from being imported into Russia were found, as well as 24.4 kg of quarantine-regulated products imported without the required phytosanitary certificate. Such actions contravene paragraph 7 of Article 22 of Federal Law No. 206-FZ of July 21, 2014 "On Plant Quarantine."
In addition, laboratory analyses of samples of plant products conducted by specialists of the FSBI "VNIIZh" revealed quarantine organisms in certain batches. In 3.5 kg of fresh plums of Uzbek origin, the mulberry scale (Pseudalacaspis pentagona (Targ.-Toz)) was found alive. In 7 kg of fresh nectarines from Uzbekistan, the oriental fruit moth (Grapholita molesta) was also found alive.
The identified quarantine-regulated products posing a phytosanitary risk were destroyed by incineration in a special furnace located on the airport grounds.
Earlier it was reported that Rosselkhoznadzor had identified more than 45,000 tonnes of grain with declaration violations.
