Control over the operation of validators on buses will be strengthened in Nizhny Novgorod.

      October 5, 2025 17:17 Society — The Ministry of Transport of the Nizhny Novgorod Region, together with the Center for the Development of Transport Systems, conducted a patrol inspection of the correctness of payment terminal operation on urban public transport. The inspection took place at the turning area in the Verkhnie Pechery neighborhood.

      During the inspection, specialists identified faulty validators on the rear platforms of buses on routes No. 45 and No. 171. Passengers had previously reported payment problems on these routes as well.

      Following the field meeting, the operator of the automated fare payment system — the company LLC "Siticard" — was instructed to step up cooperation with carriers to ensure the stable operation of the equipment. Additional briefings with drivers are also planned so that they can promptly respond to technical failures and, if necessary, restore the operation of the terminals without delay.

      Deputy Minister of Transport of the region Denis Ryabinin emphasized that having working terminals in the rear section of buses directly affects passenger convenience:

      "The operation of equipment in the rear part of the cabin is a vital element of comfort. Carriers must ensure its uninterrupted functioning and promptly eliminate malfunctions. The terms of contracts with carriers directly obligate them to have a working terminal in every vehicle. People should be confident that they will be able to pay for their ride without difficulty, regardless of which door they enter through. If these obligations are not fulfilled, other carriers may be brought in on the routes."

      Earlier it was reported that buses have sped up on Moskovskoye Highway thanks to a new dedicated lane.
