Nizhny Novgorod Region has entered the top 20 regions in terms of standard of living.

      October 6, 2025 09:21 Economy Nizhny Novgorod region entered the list of the twenty best federal subjects of Russia in terms of the material well‑being of the population. This is evidenced by data published by RIA Novosti.

      According to the results of 2024, the region ranked 20th in the corresponding rating. Over the year the Nizhny Novgorod region significantly improved its indicators: the rating score rose from 57.62 to 72.54.

      When compiling the rating, experts took several key factors into account. These included the average size of bank deposits, the share of the population with incomes below the poverty line, and the number of citizens earning more than 60,000 rubles per month.

      In addition, the affordability of mortgage housing was analyzed: the share of families able to afford to buy an apartment on credit was calculated.

      The leaders of the rating were the Yamalo-Nenets Autonomous Okrug, which scored 100 points, and the Khanty-Mansi Autonomous Okrug with a result of 99.31. At the bottom of the list were the Republic of Tuva (16.02) and Ingushetia (2.68).

      Earlier it was reported that the Nizhny Novgorod region strengthened its positions in the ranking of regions by digital transformation.
