A Nizhny Novgorod food manufacturer will increase output by 12%.

      Experts from the Regional Competence Center (RCC), together with employees of Freshmarket LLC (Nizhny Novgorod), summed up the preliminary results of implementing the tools of the federal project "Labor Productivity" of the national project "Efficient and Competitive Economy" at the enterprise.

      The company specializes in the production of food products, in particular pickled and fermented goods, marinades and salads.

      Specialists from the Regional Competence Center work at participant enterprises of the federal project for six months. After three months there is an Information Day, during which RCC experts summarize results and present plans for the second part of the project.

      According to the Minister of Industry, Trade and Entrepreneurship of the Nizhny Novgorod Region, Maksim Cherkasov, the production process for Korean-style carrots was chosen as the pilot stream. Sales of this product account for 20% of the company's revenue.

      "RCC specialists, together with the working group, analyzed the processes at the enterprise and identified 29 problems in the flow, among them waiting times and machine downtime in the carrot-cleaning shop, time spent transferring products between workshops and on equipment repairs. For each of these items solutions were proposed and an action plan developed. Implementing the RCC specialists' recommendations and the company's pilot project team's proposals will increase the enterprise's output by 12 percent," Maksim Cherkasov said.

      RCC experts trained nine company employees in lean technologies and are now preparing two internal trainers who will later be able to train their colleagues independently.

      Currently, in the Nizhny Novgorod Region, 25 food producers are implementing the tools of the federal project "Labor Productivity" of the national project "Efficient and Competitive Economy." A total of 298 regional companies are participants in the federal project.
