Russia has proposed introducing the OGE in physical education.

      The Sports Commission of the State Council of the Russian Federation for the "Physical Culture and Sport" sector discussed the development of youth sports. One of the issues was the initiative of the Ministry of Physical Culture and Sports of the Moscow Region to introduce the Basic State Exam (OGE) in physical education.

      It is proposed that the exam include the fulfillment of the GTO (Ready for Labour and Defence) standards. The final grade would depend on the result: a gold badge would correspond to a "5", silver to a "4", and bronze to a "3".

      For schoolchildren exempted from physical education classes, an option to take tests on knowledge of the subject is provided.

      Earlier it was reported that Nizhny Novgorod residents have mixed feelings about the cancellation of grades in creative subjects.
