      A man from Nizhny Novgorod was sentenced to seven years in a strict-regime colony for commercial bribery amounting to more than 1.8 million rubles, the Volga Transport Prosecutor’s Office reported.

      According to the information, in March 2023 an employee of a commercial organization helped another entrepreneur secure victory in a tender to supply floating navigation marks. For his help he received 1.8 million rubles.

      The defendant was given a sentence of 7 years’ imprisonment, as well as a fine of 9 million rubles and deprivation of the right to hold managerial positions in commercial organizations for 2 years. The illegally obtained money was confiscated to the state budget.
