On the eve at the Russian Ministry of Health, representatives of the Nizhny Novgorod region presented their experience in popularizing AI solutions among medical professionals of regional hospitals and polyclinics. This was reported on his Telegram channel by Alexey Nikonov, editor-in-chief of MIA "Stacionar-press."

It turned out that regular training in working with AI assistants motivates doctors to use AI modules for disease diagnosis more often. Increased media attention to the topic was an additional factor.

According to experts, fears of an "AI-enslaver" are gradually fading, and Russian doctors are beginning to view the technology as an assistant that relieves part of the workload.

Ekaterina Stepanova, head of the projects department at the AI platform for medical image analysis "Cels," noted that artificial intelligence cannot work without the involvement of doctors, as it is trained exclusively on data labeled by humans and requires oversight from an ethical standpoint. According to her, the main value of the technology lies in speeding up diagnosis, reducing the cost of examinations, and improving the quality of medical care.

Stepanova emphasized that AI changes roles, not people. Algorithms take over routine processes, which creates new labor markets for data annotation specialists, clinical consultants, and engineers implementing IT solutions.

Experts predict that in the coming years artificial intelligence will not replace doctors, but a doctor working with an AI assistant will become a serious competitor for colleagues.
