      In the late hours of September 27, a serious road traffic accident involving a passenger taxi and a Mercedes occurred on the Nizhnevolzhskaya Embankment in Nizhny Novgorod. The incident was reported by the regional office of the State Traffic Inspectorate.

      The crash occurred at about 23:30 near building No. 7/2. According to preliminary information, the driver of the electric taxi "Evolut", a man born in 1988, ignored a red traffic light and entered the intersection, where he collided with a Mercedes driven by a 23‑year‑old man.

      As a result of the collision, passengers of both cars were injured. A woman born in 2002, who was in the Mercedes, and a taxi passenger — a man born the same year as the driver — sustained injuries and were taken to a medical facility.

      The circumstances of the incident are being clarified. Traffic police are conducting an investigation.
