A woman from Nizhny Novgorod was detained with methadone hidden in her underwear.

In the Avtozavodsky district of Nizhny Novgorod, officers of the 4th department of the Department for Control of Drug Trafficking of the regional Main Directorate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs detained a 20-year-old woman previously convicted of drug-related crimes. The young woman is suspected of attempting to distribute prohibited substances. A personal search found 15 packets wrapped in electrical tape and hidden in her underwear. Law enforcement officers established that the contents were methadone with a total mass of more than 6 grams. Additionally, during a search of the suspect’s residence, police seized another 35 packets of a substance believed to be of narcotic origin. All samples were sent for laboratory examination to the Forensic and Criminalistics Center of the Main Directorate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia for Nizhny Novgorod Oblast. A criminal case has been opened by the investigative department of Police Department No. 1 of the city's Ministry of Internal Affairs under Article 30 Part 3 and Article 228.1 Part 4 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation — attempted illegal sale of narcotic drugs on a large scale. The court ordered house arrest for the suspect as a preventive measure. Under current legislation, such a crime can carry up to 15 years in prison.
